Quite Good Music, April 2025
I used to write a blog a long time ago now. It covered a variety of topics, but the one I could religiously churn out was my This Week in Music feature.
You may be surprised to learn it was not in fact weekly, but whenever I could be bothered.
That equated to 30 posts between 2012 & 2015.
Given it's Easter weekend, why don't I participate in resurrection myself?
Di Melo - Kilariô
When I used to work in an office, I was - to my own surprise - often the first one in, as I wanted to shower having cycled in. I'd chuck on my Morning Coffee playlist, which was absolutely filled with Tropicalia classics.
I was revisiting the playlist recently and Di Melo's Kilariô came on, the intro is infectiously funky, and the track never lets up from that point.
Joe Mcphee - Shakey Jake
If YouTube comments are to believed, Shakey Jake is best known for being the track within the Defiant Jazz scene in Severance. It's how I know it, so who am I to disagree?

David Sylvian - Red Guitar
I first came across this track in 2023, it's stayed with me since and never goes far from my rotation. I think the video's excellent too.
